Ken Quade    
Lt. Cmdr Kenneth E. Quade - - Services will be Thursday in Wesley United Methodist Church for Lt. Cmdr. Kenneth E. Quade,33, a Duluthian in the Naval Reserve, who was killed on a training mission near Santiago, Chile, on October 6th. Cmdr. Quade lived at 520 25th Avenue West. He was among 18 American killed when their C-118 cargo plane crashed into a hillside south of Santiago. The accident occurred during joint exercises involving armed forces from the United States, Chile and Peru. Cmdr Quade was serving five months of active duty in South America. He was born in Duluth and was an employee of Capp Homes Inc. He was a 1967 graduate of UMD with bachelors degrees in business management and mathematics. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. As a youth, he received the Boy Scout’s God and Country Award. Surviving are his parents, Edward and Norma Quade, Duluth; a sister, Deborah Quade, Minneapolis; two brothers, Gerald, Duluth and James, Minneapolis, and his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Reynolds, Minneapolis.
