Jim Kolu
James J. Kolu, 43, Duluth, died Monday, May 8, 1989, in Madigan Hospital, Fort Lewis Military Reservation, Tacoma, Wash. He was born in Duluth. He was a graduate of Denfeld High School and UMD. He had been a grain broker for General Mills. For the past 19 years, he was in the U.S. Army, serving most recently as a seargent first class with the 25th Transportation Center in Pusan, South Korea. Surviving are his wife, Sun; two daughters, Jennifer and Julia at home; his stepfather, Earl Wilson of Duluth; a brother, Richard Kolu of Duluth; a stepsister, Patricia Carlson of Superior; and two stepbrothers, Timothy Wilson of Duluth and Earl R. Wilson Jr. of Apple Valley, Minn. Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the 1 p.m. funeral in Fred Olson Mortuary, Duluth. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
