Dennis M. Johnson, 56, of Duluth, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, in Lake Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
There will be a celebration of Dennis’ life on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Bell Brothers Chapel. Arrangements are being conducted by Bell Brothers Funeral Directors, Bell Brothers Chapel.
Mr. Johnson was born in Superior, Wis., and lived in Duluth all of his life. He was a youth counselor and had served as director of Upward Bound Program at UMD, which later moved to St. Scholastica. Dennis had also worked at Bethany Children’s Home and Woodland Hills. He was loved by many friends and will be greatly missed.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Cindy; one daughter, Nicci; and one son, Ben; his mother, Leona Johnson of Duluth; four brothers, Don Johnson and his wife, Mary, Larry Johnson and his wife, Laurie, Roger Johnson and his wife, Cindy; and Steve Johnson and his wife Bonnie, all of Duluth; his cousin, Barbara Bishop and her husband, Mike, of Houston, Texas; four foster sons; and 19 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Johnson.
