Geri Olsen     Geri Sue Jensrud, 55, of Crookston, Minn., died Saturday, September 2, 2000, in the Riverview Nursing Home in Crookston.
Geri was born in Duluth July 24, 1945, to J. Shermand and Ethel M. (Anderson) Olsen. She grew up in Duluth, was a 1963 graduate of Denfeld High School and later attended cosmetology school in Duluth. In 1964, she married William J. Dalrymple in Wisconsin. After living in Flint, Mich. For several years, Geri and her children moved to Duluth and then in 1976 moved to Crookston. She began working at Emerson Insurance and later moved to the Tri-Valley Opportunity Offices. On Aug. 14, 1981, she was united in marriage to Don Jensrud at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Geri and Don had been making their home in rural Crookston since that time. She retired from Tri-Valley in 1996. Geri was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a former member of Job’s Daughters in Duluth. She loved sewing and doing crafts, shopping and spending time reading. Geri adored her family and they will miss her dearly.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents.
Loving family members include her husband, Don; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Wendy Dalrymple of Crookston, a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Kevin Altepeter of Crookston; stepchildren Merle Jensrud and his fiancé, Kim Haugtvedt of Crookston, Bonnie and John Bjorsness of Newfolden, Minn., LaVonne and Gene Brown of Grand Forks, N.D., Curt and Betty Jensrud of Farmington, Minn., Monica and Ralph Nicklay of Ellendale, N.D., Sharon Jensrud and her fiancé, David DeNiear of Evergreen, Colo., and Randy Jensrud of Crookston; 17 grandchildren; on great-granddaughter; a sister, Jean Orlowski of Dothan, Ala., and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation – 5 – 7 p.m. in Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues from 1 until the 2 p.m. service Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston.
