Alan Jarl Johnson, 74, of Duluth, MN died Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 in St. Luke's Hospital. Alan was born April 2nd, 1945 in Duluth, MN. He was the son of Jarl and Lorraine Johnson. Alan was a 1963 graduate of Duluth Denfeld High School and attended the University of Minnesota Duluth. Alan was also a member of the Army National Guard. Alan started selling custom made suits for his Dad, Jarl, who owned Jarl's Tailoring. Alan later worked for Dain Bosworth as a stockbroker before branching out as an independent Advisor.
Alan was a great Father, Grandpa and friend. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and being a man who creatively imagined and dreamed outside of the box. Alan was a devoted member of Asbury United Methodist Church and their praise team. Alan is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Paul, John and Dean, and his brother-in-law Wayne Sundstrom.
Alan is survived by his daughter Kirsten (Michael) Stellmaker of Duluth, MN and son Kyle (Leta) Johnson of Earlysville, VA; grandchildren, Noelle and Nicholas Stellmaker and Greyson Johnson; sister, Jean Sundstrom of Hermantown, MN; sister-in-law, Janice Johnson of Ramsey, MN and several beloved nieces and nephews.
His Family would like to thank all the staff at St Luke's 7W, St Luke's Hospice, and Dr David Arvold for their unceasing support and kindness.
Visitation, Monday April 29th at 10:00am and will continue to the 11:00 Memorial Service at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave Duluth, MN. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, MN. 218-727-3555.
