Evonne Galvin Silverness, 61, longtime Superior and Duluth area resident died Monday, July 24, 2006 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rugby, North Dakota on December 2, 1944, the daughter of Richard and Hazel (Payne) Galvin.
She attended schools in the area and graduated from Denfeld High School, Duluth.  Evonne was employed by Garon Knitting Mills in Superior as a seamstress retiring in 1995.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, sewing and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Tina (Mark) Zimmer, Superior, and Sheri (Joe) Oliver, Superior, one son, Randy (Karen) Silverness, Superior, seven grandchildren, Blaine and Colton Campbell, Bryce, Devon and Kaylee Silverness, Kodi and Paige Oliver; four sisters, Lillian (Ted) Geisinger, Rantoul, Illinois, Rosella Hunter, Rantoul Illinois; Charlotte Youngberg, Superior, WI and Mabel Galvin, Duluth; two brothers, Oscar Galvin, Gresham, Oregon and Paul Galvin, Duluth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Gladys Dressen, Mary Galvin, Betty Galvin, Ruby Galvin and Alice Robert; one brother, Richard Galvin, one niece, Sheila Waller and one nephew, Erick Dressen.
Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery, Duluth.
