Sandra Anderson         Sandra Lee Smith, of Coon Rapids lost her courageous 5 year battle with ovarian cancer on March 25, 2004. She passed away surrounded by her family.
Sandra was a 1963 graduate of Denfeld High School in Duluth, Minnesota. She worked for the Northern City National Bank in Duluth until moving to Minneapolis. She worked for Lapanta's Card Corner for 9 years. She had an amazing outlook on life and lived to love and be loved. Her success with those goals can be measured by the joy andhappiness she brought to so many friends and family. She brought joy to our lives by always remembering the special events, ourfavorite things and always succeeded in making everyone she met feel important and loved. She touched so many peoples livesand they are richer for having known her. She was a collector of people and we will miss the love, the smiles, and the laughter that she brought to our lives. She will live in our hearts forever.
She was preceeded in death by her first husband, Richard Ruud; and her parents, Adeline and Franklin Anderson.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband Robert (Bob) Smith. She will be especially missed by her children, Lisa (Scott) Banken and Jason (Julie) Ruud; her stepdaughters, Julie (Darrell) Bartell, Wendy (Chad) Sundberg, Robin (John) Sylvester, and Susan (Todd) Boyer; and her sixteen grandchildren, Madylin, Alexa, Bennett, Daina, Danielle, Drew, Grace, Noah, Christopher, Karley, Kyle, Nathan, Hollie, April, Gabrielle, and Faith. She will also be missed by her sister, Diane (Kim) Kassler; nieces Jodi (Chris) Nordberg and Hilary Youngstrand; her sister-in-law, Lynn (Rudy) Vraspir; brother-in-law, Dennis (Toni) Smith; and stepsister, Lucy Boyum.
A special Thank You to Parker Hughes Cancer Center, especially Dr. Dayton and Dr. Shahid, who supported and gave us hope along with three additional years to spend with her family. Thank you also to Hospice of the Twin Cities and the nurses and staff for their compassionate care.
