Bill Eklund    
William C. Eklund, 28, of 4106 Helm Road, Died Sunday in a helicopter crash. Born in Duluth, he was a graduate of Denfeld High School and UMD. He was a lieutenant and jet pilot with the Minnesota Air National Guard’s 148th Fighter Group. He was a graduate of Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Tex. He was employed by the East West Realty Co. as a salesman and pilot. He was on the board of directors of the Fatherless Boys Association. Surviving are his wife, Cindy; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Carl W. Eklund, Duluth; two sisters, Mrs. William (Donna) Ongalo, Crystal, Minn., and Mrs. James (Kathleen) Elsmore, Duluth, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Proxida Doucette, Duluth.
